Over the past decade, Rabat has learned to see itself differently. Since 2015, Jidar – Rabat Street Art Festival has woven a lasting connection between the city’s architecture and the imagination of its inhabitants. Wall after wall, a new, more vibrant and permeable cartography has taken shape. For its 11th edition, taking place from April 16 to 27, 2026, Jidar opens a new chapter defined by maturity and transmission. More than an open-air gallery, the festival now asserts itself as a space for Urban Dialogues—between generations, across territories, and with an audience for whom art is no longer an interruption, but an ongoing and familiar exchange.
This spirit of dialogue is reflected in the visual identity of the edition. The poster—conceived as a constellation of multicolored kites—celebrates the diversity of cultures converging in Rabat. Its aerial choreography naturally draws the eye upward, echoing the gesture of a passerby looking up at a monumental mural. It is an invitation to wonder and lightness, a reminder that while walls are made of stone, art is a breath that connects people. Stripped down and dynamic, this artistic direction conveys a festival that is alive, evolving, and in constant ascent.
This year also brings renewed focus to the Moroccan scene. Five murals will be created by local artists, bringing together established names and emerging voices—some painting their very first large-scale works. It is both a commitment to nurturing new talent and a celebration of the richness and diversity of contemporary artistic practices in Morocco.
The Collective Wall, renewed once again, embodies this commitment. For one week, young artists will transform it into a space of experimentation—testing gestures, scales, and narratives in direct dialogue with the public realm. Here, experimentation becomes form, and the city itself becomes a shared studio.
Jidar invites audiences to experience Rabat differently: to slow down, to look closer, and to engage. To encounter artists at work, as they transform public space into a living, open-air studio.
