Mural Performances
Each year, Jidar transforms the urban landscape into a visual composition shaped by global influences. In just ten years, the festival has profoundly reshaped Rabat’s cityscape: over 16,000 square meters of walls painted—the equivalent of more than two football fields turned into works of art.
This unique urban heritage is the result of contributions from more than 85 artists representing 25 nationalities across four continents, positioning Rabat as a key destination on the global mural art map. Beyond these figures, Jidar has played a pivotal role as a platform: in a decade, it has helped launch over 30 Moroccan artists onto the international scene.
For its 2026 edition, 15 new murals will be added to this ever-evolving open-air museum. The program unfolds as a cartography of contemporary practices, where geometric abstraction meets neo-folklore, and diverse visual languages coexist. By engaging with neighborhoods rich in identity, artists enter into dialogue with architecture and everyday life, turning each façade into the site of a singular encounter.
